Egg hunt with the animals this Easter

91原创 pet shelter hosts 4th annual fundraiser April 19

91原创 Animal Protection Society (LAPS) is holding its fourth annual Easter fundraiser on Saturday, April 19.

Featuring an egg hunt on the Patti Dale walking trail, facepainting, food trucks, cotton candy and popcorn, plus a visit by the Easter bunny, it鈥檚 guaranteed to be a fun-filled day, said Kelsi Sutton, director of development.

鈥淭here will also be a colouring contest, live music, shelter tours, and snuggles with some adoptable animals,鈥 she added.

The event is in partnership with Caprice & Kylene Real Estate Team, and all funds raised from the event go to the Patti Dale Animal Shelter in Aldergrove.

鈥淚t wouldn鈥檛 be a party without our co-hosts!鈥 Sutton cheered.

Due to limited parking at LAPS, the shelter is offering timed entry slots this year for $50 per car load and carpooling is recommended.

Walk-ins are $10 each without onsite parking.

鈥淲e have three timed entry slots this year to help with crowd control and parking. Last year, we had over 1,000 people attend,鈥 Sutton said.

Timed slots are by the hour from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. To book tickets, people can visit lapsbc.ca/events.

鈥淭he Easter event supports LAPS by raising awareness of our mission and uniting the community to help animals in need,鈥 Sutton explained.

鈥淧roceeds directly benefit the care of vulnerable animals and our social service program that assists pet owners in crisis.鈥

This year鈥檚 goal is to raise $5,000, and guests are also encouraged to bring donations of unopened cat or dog food items to support LAPS鈥 pet food bank.

LAPS is located at 26220 56 Ave.
