MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
With summer of 2023 winding down, the cool crisp mornings are upon us and kids are back to school.
Those are the signs of what car buffs of all ages always look forward to, yes you guessed鈥 It鈥檚 Cruise-In.
Welcome to the 91原创 Good Times Cruise-In 2023, with fresh new faces on the board (and some familiar ones, too).
We are excited to be part of one of North America鈥檚 largest mixed outdoor car shows.
It was started as a simple idea back in 1997 by some local merchants to draw people to the downtown shops, and at the same time raising money for local charities.
With 430 registered vehicles in the beginning, Cruise-In has now grown to more than 1,800 vehicles.
It all starts early Saturday morning, Sept. 9, with the sound of rolling thunder and the sweet smell of high octane fuel in the air, as the fine cars, trucks, and specialty vehicles begin to make their way to be placed in the downtown streets of Aldergrove.
While you are watching this eye-popping extravaganza, be sure to enjoy a pancake breakfast from one of the local charities.
New this year, we will host the 鈥淗and Over a Jeep鈥 contest, with the winner driving a brand new Jeep for a year, sponsored by 91原创 Chrysler.
We also welcome back Jimmy Shine from his speed shop in Orange County, Calif. to present the prestigious 鈥淎ward of Excellence.鈥
In addition, for 2023, there will be a 鈥淧ete Chapouris Memorial Award鈥 introduced 鈥 both awards will be presented to a local car builder.
Feeling a bit hungry? Stop in at the many local restaurants and coffee shops to refill your tank.
And back again 鈥 by popular demand with previous years of success 鈥 In-N-Out Burger will once again be coming up from California to sell their famous burgers, with all net proceeds going to benefit Cruise-In鈥檚 local charities.
Looking for that special gift, visit the many local shops or maybe you might find it at the Cruise-In Marketplace in the centre of Fraser Highway.
Want some good old rock 鈥榥鈥 roll?
Well, we have that too, with the one-and-only Steve (Elvis) Elliott on the main stage.
At both ends of the show you will hear on stage: Six Gun Romeo, ZED City, The Bombers, Outlaws and Lace, Blind Pigeon, and Stiletto playing to keep the music going during the event.
Also situated near the main stage, you will find the 91原创 Good Times Cruise-In souvenir tent.
We must say thank you to our sponsors who give up product, time, and money to help and support us every day.
After it鈥檚 all said and done, we donate net proceeds raised to support four main local charities: 91原创 Community Support Group鈥檚 Hope After Stroke; Valley Therapeutic Equestrian Association; and both the Aldergrove and 91原创 Rotary Club鈥檚 Starfish Backpack programs.
Giving back does not end there, we have many small local charities that we also support. So say thank you when you talk to the hundred or so volunteers who put on the show, they are true heroes in our community and we thank them all for the hard work and dedication throughout the year.
Riccardo Sestito,
President, 91原创 Good Times Cruise-In
