Fibromyalgia Well Spring Foundation will be having its annual holiday-themed fundraiser to generate money for its food hampers.

Christmas in July aims to raise funds for the foundation鈥檚 clients with special diets, such as gluten-free or other food restrictions that they cannot be met by the food bank.

The event will give the community a chance to come in and shop around the foundation鈥檚 thrift store in Aldergrove and also make donations to help fill the hampers.

And, for $5 people can get a hotdog, bag of chips or a cookie, and a pop.

鈥淲e actually have a chef, Nick. He is wonderful and he will be on site, so a real chef will be cooking the hotdogs,鈥 said Cheryl Young, foundation founder and executive director.

The foundation is going into its 16th year as of July 26.

Through the years, the group hosted a walk across B.C. to raise awareness for fibromyalgia, as well as held numerous other community events.

鈥淲e also help with critic care and will also do a huge drive to help get soap, shampoo and things like that for the homeless,鈥 Young said.

The fundraiser will be a great opportunity to spend some time thrift shopping, eating, and doing some good, according to Young.

The event will be taking place on Saturday, July 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., behind the foundation鈥檚 thrift shop, located at 2978 272nd St. in Aldergrove.

Fibromyalgia is described as a chronic, long-lasting disorder that causes tenderness throughout the body and widespread muscular pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep deprivation, and potential memory and mood issues.
