Aldergrove Community Secondary students earned themselves some pretty impressive coin.

The school community gathered recently for a celebratory luncheon where some $100,000 in scholarships and bursaries were distributed.

The students wrote thank-you notes to the donors who were invited to the luncheon.

Student achievement is comparable to past years but there have been some changes, impacting their ability to earn funds to help with their educations.

鈥淚t was a very solid result that compares with other years,鈥� explained Nadine Luteijn, the school鈥檚 careers department head. 鈥淭he main difference is there are fewer 91原创 School District Foundation scholarships available specifically for ACSS students than in previous years. Some of the donor funds have been used up or financially they are unable to contribute as they used to. Students this year found success from seeking out other scholarship opportunities in and outside of their communities.鈥�
