2024 final year for car show in memory of 91原创 man

Brad McPherson loved automobiles but never got the chance to pursue his dreams

The first 100 vehicles to register for the Bradley McPherson Memorial Car Show and Shine will receive a dash plaque, the last ones being issued.

This is the 12th year the event has been held and will be the last one.

Also known as Burnouts in the Sky, the car show will be Saturday, July 27, at the George Preston Recreation Centre, 20699 42 Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the general public. Registration open at 8 a.m. and costs $20.

All funds raised at the car show have gone to scholarships for students with ADD or ADHD.

McPherson was murdered on Christmas Eve day 2011 in retaliation for trying to intervene when a woman was being harassed at a party in a home in Newton. His killer was convicted in 2018 and sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 15 years.

The scholarship fund started in 2013, and by 2023, there were 20 scholarships given out to students with ADD or ADHD as well as some scholarships to students wanting to purse auto repair education, which was McPherson's dream.

His automotive pride and joy was 鈥淓mma,鈥 a 1980 GMC short-box truck, which he used to do burnouts with.
