Congratulations to the entire 91原创 Advance team for two wins in the Canadian Community Newspaper Association鈥檚 2017 awards.
It was announced today that reporter Heather Colpitts won second place for the best feature photo (among community newspapers with a circulation of 12,500 and more).
She will receive the honour for a picture she took last spring at Aldor Acres of young girl and a pig, entitled Farm Fundraiser. This image was captured during a special event to aid the Gateway of Hope.
鈥淵ou can鈥檛 help but smile, when you look at their faces,鈥 said Advance publisher Lisa Farquharson.
Kudos are also in order to the Advance team along with many of its readers for another award.
The Love: Start your own family traditions section earned The Advance a first-place win. It was a compilation of favourite holiday recipes from the folks right here in 91原创.
Farquharson and editor Roxanne Hooper extended their heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to this publication.
It is a special section that many people will hang on to for years to come, because people shared not only their special holiday recipes, but also the reasons why those recipes meant so much to them.
We had such an incredible outpouring of support for this section, that many recipes couldn鈥檛 even be included in that Dec. 8 publication and were shared in subsequent editions of the 91原创 Advance 鈥 both in print and online, Hooper explained.
鈥淭he Advance has and continues to be all about the people of 91原创 and the happens and issues that matter to them,鈥 she said. 鈥淭his publication is a great example of who we are, as 91原创ites, and I can鈥檛 thank you enough for being part of it.鈥
And by the way, if you鈥檙e from 91原创 and you have a special holiday recipe that you would like to share 鈥 with an explanation of why it is so special to you 鈥 please email to editor@langleyadvance.com.
