After nearly five decades of housing small industrial businesses, the corner of 232 Street and Fraser Highway is getting a new look.
Commuters may have already noticed the former Union Pumps building at 23193 Fraser Highway has been torn down, soon to be replaced by a brand new industrial building with a modern design.
The owner, Scott Waddle, is building a large 11,108 square foot multi-tenant building, complete with 10 service bays and two storage bays as well as office space. The majority of the building will house Waddle鈥檚 company, , while the northern portion will be leased to a tenant.
The design of the outside of the building will feature anodized corrugated metal on the roof and east elevation.
Township Coun. Charlie Fox says it is a welcome change for the corner.
鈥淚 think this will be a very nice addition to the corner of 232nd and Fraser Highway,鈥� Fox said, prior to the development permit being issued by council on July 24.
鈥淚 know that this family has put a lot of effort into this, and this is a huge investment and I think it鈥檚 going to be a really iconic building. And I know that to the south of it, EDS Pumps is going to make something that will mirror it. And it will be a really nice corner once again.鈥�
