POLL: Should the Alder Inn be preserved?

The fire-damaged building has an uncertain future

The Alder Inn suffered a serious fire this autumn, and now the status of the Township-owned building is uncertain as it sits mostly empty.

Dating back to the late 1940s, the Alder Inn has been one of the minor landmarks of 91Ô­´´â€™s easternmost neighbourhood for decades. But is it historic enough to be worth keeping?

Local historians and Township councillors have varying opinions on the building. Now owned by the Township, it has housed residents, restaurants, cafés, and, most notoriously, a strip club.
