It took a one-hole playoff, but Jessica Wallace prevailed in the final event on the 2011 CN Canadian Women鈥檚 Tour.
With the victory, Wallace earned an exemption into the Canadian Women鈥檚 Open, which runs August 22-28 at the Hillside Golf and Country Club in Mirabel, Que.
鈥淭hat was the whole reason why I came here, to play in this tournament so I could get into the CN Canadian Women鈥檚 Open,鈥 Wallace said about last week鈥檚 tournament at the Blue Springs Golf Club in Acton, Ont.
Her brother Darren played in the men鈥檚 Canadian Open in 2004 and since then, she has aimed to qualify for the women鈥檚 event.
Wallace, a member of Team Canada, finished one-over-par 145 over the two-day tournament and defeated Kirby Dreher in a one-hole playoff.
Wallace, who golfed out of the Redwoods Golf Course and is a Walnut Grove Secondary graduate, is entering her senior season at the University of Colorado.
