VIDEO: Running for a good cause in Campbell Valley

91Ô´´ event part of 27th annual Fraser Valley Trail Run Series

More than 70 runners took part in the Campbell Valley 5 and 10KM Trail Run on Sunday morning, March 2, offering 5KM and 10KM routes through 91Ô´´'s Campbell Valley Regional Park as part of the 2025 Fraser Valley Trail Run Series.

It was the first Campbell Valley event of its kind since 2019,  back when it was called the Campbell Valley Stomp and before the pandemic happened.

After walking the route to make sure conditions were acceptable, organizer Phil Ellis from Peninsula Runners sent the runners on their way.

"We're raising money for the track and field community here, and specifically the Ocean Athletics Track and Field Club," Ellis explained.

Campbell Valley would have been the last of three runs in the series, with started in January with the Resolution Race for at Crescent Park. However, what was supposed to be the second event, the Aldergrove Ramble Run, had to be rescheduled to March 16 due to severe winter weather.

It was actually cancelled twice, said Laurie Hunt, manager of Peninsula Runners  White Rock location.

"It was postponed from Feb 15, because of the snow, to Feb. 22, then it was icy, so it was postponed again to March."

The Aldergrove 4.8 and 8KM events are scheduled scheduled to start in the main parking lot in Aldergrove Regional Park off 8 Ave. between 272 and  280  streets at 9 am.

There are limited spots available. Those interested can register online at  or by emailing info@penrun.ca or phoning 604-531-7879.
