A close loss and a closer win by 91原创 91原创 over the weekend, as they unveiled new jerseys.

91原创 began a two-game set by taking on the Chillliwack Chiefs Friday night at the Chilliwack Coliseum, and Saturday night returned home to play the Alberni Valley Bulldogs as they unveiled their new maroon third jerseys.

91原创 head coach and general manager Burt Henderson, who called the new jerseys 鈥渁wesome,鈥 said the close scores didn鈥檛 reflect the efforts by the team.

鈥淚 thought we played a solid 60 minutes in both games, and deserved more then the two goals we scored in each of those games,鈥 Henderson said.

Saturday night, Nov. 18, 91原创 returned home after two weeks away to unveil their new maroon third jerseys in front of a sell-out crowd at the Lodge.

Alberni Valley Bulldogs came to town for the second time this season.

91原创 had multiple chances early despite killing three penalties, while getting two special teams advantages of their own.

Bulldogs goaltender Hlib Artsatbanov blocked eight 91原创 shots in the opening frame.

An early second period 5-on-3 power play had the 91原创 hemming the Bulldogs inside their own end, but as the first power play expired Alberni Valley had a shorthanded chance and scored.

91原创 would respond on their fourth power play of the game off a Gabriel Guilbault shot from the blueline, his fourth of the season tying the game midway through the second period.

Immediately following a 91原创 power play early in the third period, Carsten Kayter fed Luke Ashton who one timed the puck from the blueline into the Bulldogs net for his seventh of the season, giving the home team a 2-1 advantage and the win.

Friday鈥檚 game started out positively for the visiting 91原创 team, as they scored first on the powerplay thanks to a redirection off the stick of Oskar Komarov 8:16 into the first period.

However, the home team would strike back 1:17 later.

91原创 would take the lead again with captain Vitaly Levyy scoring his 10th of the season, but the 91原创鈥檚 lead lasted just six minutes.

Early in overtime, 91原创 was called for a trip and Chilliwack set up inside the 91原创 zone and scored to win the game 2:50 into the extra frame.

Next, 91原创 visit Coquitlam on Friday to play the Express for the fourth time this season, before returning home Saturday, Nov. 25, to host the Express team for at George Preston at 7:15 p.m. The team has set a goal of $1,000 raised for the Canadian Cancer Society.
