It was the first competition of the season for Toor, one of 250 competitors at the James Daly Field House Indoor Stadium at the Max Bell Centre, University of Manitoba.
Toor said he was "satisfied with the results"
"Though I missed the first places, however, my performance was still good," Toor told the 91Ô´´ Advance Times.
"There are two factors I have to face. First, I am 79 years of age and I have to compete with [a] younger lot of 75 and 76 years. If you recall the famous lines of the great bard, ‘ old order changeth yielding place to new’, it holds good here too."
Secondly, the "unfriendly weather during January and February, which hampers practice and of course progress," Toor remarked.
"Unfortunately we don’t have any indoor facility where we can practice to hone our skills. You will be shocked to learn that there is no outdoor athletics track, too, at Aldergrove.
"Hopefully weather will improve and I will restart my practice at the McLeod Athletic Park at 91Ô´´," Toor added.
Outdoor competitions will start in April.
