Two more victories improved the Trinity Western Spartans to 4-0 and helped them maintain the top spot in the CIS men鈥檚 volleyball rankings.

The Spartans where in Brandon were they defeated the Bobcats 3-0 (25-22,25-22,25-20) and 3-1 (25-21,24-26,25-23,25-17) over the weekend in rematch of last season鈥檚 national championship game which was won by Trinity Western.

鈥淚t is hard to get a weekend sweep in Brandon, so we鈥檙e excited to get out of here with two wins and get back home for our home opener next weekend,鈥� commented TWU head coach Ben Josephson

Rudy Verhoeff had a team-high 15 kills, while Steven Marshall had 14 kills and Nicholas Del Bianco contributed 11 kills for the Spartans. Trinity Western also had a solid blocking game, putting up 24 total blocks while the Bobcats had just eight.

Trinity Western was efficient as a team, converting on 35.6 percent of total attacks, while Brandon hit at 17.8 percent. The Spartans also beat the Bobcats in the team blocks category 13-2.
