Trinity Western women's soccer coach Graham Roxburgh was named Canada West coach of the year. It is the second time he has won the award in his 12-year coaching career.

Graham Roxburgh was honoured as the top women's university soccer coach in Canada.

The head coach of the Trinity Western Spartans received the award on Wednesday night in Montreal, site of the 2011 Canadian Interuniversity Sport women's soccer championships.

Roxburgh guided the Spartans to a program-best 12-1-1 record. Coupled with the team's two victories last week at the Canada West championships and the Spartans have gone unbeaten in their past 14 games (13-0-1) and are ranked second in the country.

Trinity Western is also in search of their fourth CIS championship and their third in the past four years.They have previously won in 2004, 2008 and 2009.

The Spartans also had two players named CIS all-Canadians, another first for the program.

Goalkeeper Kristen Funk and midfielder Melissa Mobilio both earned first-team honours.
