TWU hockey: SFU skates past Trinity Western

The Trinity Western Spartans were no match for first-place Simon Fraser on Friday night, falling 4-1.

The two B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League teams squared off at the Bill Copeland Arena in Burnaby.

And SFU opened the scoring early, less than a minute in, with Volodymyr Dashko beating goalie Tim Zwiers.

Paul Moscone doubled the lead 11 minutes later and then Colby Kulhanek's power-play goal made it 3-0 after 20 minutes.

Josh Stephenson got the Spartans on the board before Patrik Martin rounded out the scoring.

SFU improved to 13-3-2 while the Spartans fell to 6-10-1.

Trinity Western closes the regular season with a pair of home games at the 91原创 Events Centre, Friday against SFU (7 p.m.) and Saturday against Okanagan College (1 p.m.).
