Up against the top swimmers in the country, Hillary Metcalfe just missed the podium in four of her five events.
The 91Ô´´ Olympians Swim Club member was competing at the Canadian summer nationals Aug. 4 to 7 in Montreal.
Metcalfe was fourth in the 200m breaststroke (2:32.92), 400m individual medley (4:53.66), the 100m breaststroke (1:10.67) and the 50m breaststroke (32.32).
She also finished with a pair of personal bests in the 50m breaststroke and the 200m individual medley when she swam a 2:18.54 in the heats of that event. Metcalfe wound up placing seventh in the finals.
