The North Shore Twins plated the game’s only run, defeating the visiting 91Ô­´´ Blaze in a first-place showdown.

The Twins improved to 23-8, 1.5 games ahead of the 21-9 Blaze with Tuesday’s victory at Parkgate Park in North Vancouver in BC Premier Baseball League action.

North Shore put together the game’s only offence in the sixth inning with a double and two batters later, RBI single.

Michael Stovman took the loss on the mound for 91Ô­´´, scattering seven hits over six innings.

The Blaze bats managed just five hits.

91Ô­´´, which saw their four-game winning streak snapped, will look to get back to the win column when they host the White Rock Tritons on June 22 at McLeod Athletic Park.
