T.J. Tahid will be back as a Vancouver FC midfielder.
Maple Ridge's Tahid, the youngest player to ever play in a Canadian Premier League match, and the youngest goalscorer in league history, was among 11 players confirmed for next season by the 91原创-based pro soccer franchise.
Ten players, including Tahid, are set to return on guaranteed contracts.
The other nine include defenders: Elage Bah, Paris Gee, and David Norman Jr., midfielders Ben Fisk, Mikael Cantave, Vasco Fry, and Grady McDonnell, along with forward Jose Navarro.
Additionally, Alejandro D铆az will remain with Vancouver on loan from Norway鈥檚 Sogndal Fotball until June 30, 2025.
A Dec. 3, release by the teams described "a strong foundation of returning talent, club options pending decisions, and some notable expirations as the team builds its roster for the upcoming campaign."
Eagles hold club options for 11 other players and has until Dec. 31 to execute those contracts for the 2025 season, including goalkeepers Niko Giantsopoulos and Callum Irving, defenders Matteo Campagna, Kadin Chung, Anthony White, James Cameron, Tyler Crawford, and midfielders Gabriel Bitar, Renan Garcia, Olivier Rommens, and Zach Verhoven.
Contracts for several players have expired:
Defender Allan Enyou鈥檚 loan from Spain鈥檚 C.D. Leganes B, midfielder Joey Buchanan鈥檚 development contract, and striker Sebastian Dzikowski鈥檚 CPL-U SPORTS contract.
As well, contracts for defender Rocco Romeo and forwards Austin Ricci and Moses Dyer, whose loan to Pacific FC has also expired, will end on Dec. 31.
"Vancouver FC鈥檚 commitment to building a competitive and cohesive team for 2025 remains evident in these strategic moves," the announcement said.
