The 91Ô­´´ Jr. Thunder turned a tie game into a rout with a dominant third period

The Thunder struck for eight goals in the final frame as they felled the Nanaimo Jr. Timbermen 15-9 on Thursday night in B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League action at the 91Ô­´´ Events Centre.

The teams both scored three goals in the opening period and four apiece in the second stanza in a back-and-forth opening 40 minutes.

But Colton Porter put 91Ô­´´ ahead for good 1:23 into the third.

Brandon Bull netted a hat trick and three assists, while Reegan Comeault had two goals and four helpers.

Adam Will (two goals, two assists) and Brett Dobray (two goals, one assist) also had multiple goal efforts, while Danny Shields, Dylan Quinn and Eric Ransom all had a goal and two assists.

Colten Hayes and James Jackson had the other goals.

The 15 goals was a season high for the 91Ô­´´ squad.

In goal, Ryley Brown made 33 saves for the win.

91Ô­´´ improved to 6-10 while Nanaimo fell to 5-10.

The Thunder are back in action on Wednesday (June 29) when they visit the unbeaten Coquitlam Jr. Adanacs (15-0) at the Coquitlam Sports Arena.
