The 91原创 Thunder won their fourth consecutive game as they continue their ascent up the Western Lacrosse Association standings.
The senior A lacrosse squad exploded for six first-period goals on Wednesday night at the 91原创 Events Centre as they defeated the Nanaimo Timbermen 10-7.
The Thunder improved to 6-5-1 and their 13 points have them in third place in the seven-team league.
The trio of Andrew Potter (two goals, three assists), Alex Turner (two goals, three assists) and Athan Iannucci (two goals, two assists) combined for six goals and 14 points.
Patrick Saunders (one goal, three assists) and Kyle McEwen (two goals, one assist) also had multi-point games.
And Brodie MacDonald was outstanding in goal, stopping 48 shots as the Timbermen outshot 91原创 55-38.
91原创 visits first-place New Westminster (8-2-1) on Thursday (July 7) with six games remaining in the regular season.
But to make the post-season, the Thunder will have to learn to win away from the comforts of home.
The team is 6-1 at the LEC, but winless (0-4-1) as the visiting team.They have two home games remaining.
