Stunning late-game rally sends Sr. Blaze to victory

The throw is a little high for 91Ô­´´ Blaze shortstop Andrew Bell as Kelowna Falcons’ Blake Curruthers beats the throw to steal second base on Saturday at Elks Stadium in West Bank. The teams split a doubleheader, with 91Ô­´´ winning 9-7 before Kelowna responded with a 3-0 win. Bell had a home run in the first game.

The 91Ô­´´ Sr. Blaze used a spectacular rally, coming back from a 7-0 hole to win 9-7.

The senior baseball team was playing the Kelowna Falcons, in Kelowna, on Saturday in an exhibition doubleheader.

Andrew Bell got the rally going with a two-run home run in the sixth and then Scott Webster pulled 91Ô­´´ with a three-run shot in the seventh.

The Falcons would win game two of the doubleheader 3-0.

91Ô­´´ returned to McLeod Park on Tuesday in league play, edging the Coquitlam Angels 3-2.

Joe Germaine hit a home run and Nate Corscadden drove in the other run, while Ryan Eiswerth picked up the win.
