There was a silver lining for the 91Ô­´´ U14B Xtreme over the weekend in Kelowna.

The girls ’03 peewee softball rep team took second place at a tournament hosted by the Kelowna Minor Fastball Society.

The ball team won their first five games before suffering their lone setback, 4-3, at the hands of the Richmond Islanders ’03 squad in the championship final.

Up until that point, the Xtreme had been perfect, outscoring their foes a combined 38-14.

91Ô­´´ won their pool with a 3-0 record, defeating the Richmond Islanders ’04 by a 9-4 score, edging the Calgary Kaizen 5-4 and the topping the South Surrey White Rock Thunder ’03 by an 8-1 count.

As the top seed in their pool, the Xtreme tamed the Ridge Meadows Rage 03/04 squad 7-2 in the quarter-finals and then grounded the Prince George Thunderbirds ’03 9-3 in the semifinals.

The Xtreme are made up of Sally Sapinski (back row, left to right), Breann Thiessen, Alysia Dickens, Olivia Sing, Makenna Baly, Vanessa Waugh, Makenna Nightingale, Paige Martell (front row, left to right), Justine Charron, Madison Naylor, Brianna Stockli and Rylee Baly. Coaches are Charles Dickens, Dom Smith and Murray Sing.
