It鈥檚 official, Brookswood Bobcats star point guard Aislinn Konig if off to North Carolina State next year.

The Grade 12 basketball player at Brookswood Secondary had verbally committed to the Atlantic Coast Conference school and signed her national letter of intent last week (Nov. 11).

The five-foot-nine point guard was ranked #38 by ESPN among high school recruits and ninth among guards.

鈥�(Aislinn) is the rare talent that makes everyone around her better and raises the entire team鈥檚 level of play,鈥� said Wolfpack coach Wes Moore. 鈥淪he鈥檚 great with the ball in her hands, both as a scorer and a facilitator.

鈥淗er ability to nail the three, create off the bounce, or thread the needle with a full-court pass will make her an instant fan favourite of Wolfpack Nation.鈥�

The Bobcats have won the past two B.C. 3A senior girls provincial championships with Konig earning most valuable player honours both times.

鈥淪he is probably the best player I have ever coached, and I have coached some good ones,鈥� said 鈥機ats coach Neil Brown back in June.

鈥淪he is a kid who is very focused on what she wants.鈥�

Konig had plenty of suitors, with about 300 schools of all sizes expressing interest. She went on 10 unofficial visits and two official visits before deciding on the Raleigh university.
