The 91原创 Rams had no answer for Trey Campbell.

The Westshore Rebels running back had 150 yards rushing, another 115 yards receiving and three touchdowns in his team鈥檚 29-5 victory on Saturday at Langford鈥檚 Westhill Stadium.

By comparison, the Rams mustered just 178 total yards 鈥 52 rushing and 147 passing 鈥 as they fell to 1-3 on the B.C. Junior Football League season.

The Rebels finished with 363 yards of total offence, nearly three quarters (265 yards) of that when Campbell had the ball in his hands.

鈥淲e had opportunities to score but just didn鈥檛 capitalize,鈥 lamented 91原创 coach Khari Joseph. 鈥淪o that was the frustrating part.鈥

The coach didn鈥檛 hold back in assessing his team鈥檚 performance.

鈥淲e need better play from our quarterbacks,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e had open guys and just couldn鈥檛 hit them; that is what we have to work on 鈥 we need to be more accurate and our receivers have to run better routes.鈥

Rylan Matters began the game at quarterback but was just 2-for-7 for 13 yards. Colby Peters took over and was 17-for-32 for 134 yards and one interception.

Ryan McDonald led the receivers with seven catches for 80 yards but the team rushed 15 times for just 52 yards.

This also marked the first time in nine games the team failed to find the end zone.

The Rams trailed 7-3 after one quarter and 19-5 at the half. Neither team scored in the third with the Rebels adding 10 points in the fourth quarter.

91原创 also turned the ball over three times 鈥 one interception and two fumbles 鈥 as well as four turnovers on downs. The Rams also failed to generate any turnovers.

Defensively, Kyle Sagmoen finished with three tackles and three assisted tackles while Demarius Henderson had three tackles and assisted on another and Jacob Dodd had three tackles.

Despite Campbell鈥檚 big game for the Rebels, Joseph thought the defence did a decent job.

鈥淐ampbell is a good player, we just have to do a better job of gang tackling,鈥 he said.

鈥淏ut when you are on the field a lot and you are not getting a lot of help from your offence, it just wears on the defence after a while.鈥

The Rams will look to snap their two-game losing streak as they visit the Kamloops Broncos on Saturday (Aug. 26). Both teams are 1-3.
