Rams name new coach

Jeff Alamolhoda is the new head coach of the 91原创 Rams.

Brought on to serve as the defensive co-ordinator of the junior football team, Alamolhoda has been promoted after Tyson St. James stepped down for personal reasons.

Alamolhoda grew up in 91原创 and played for the 91原创 Minor Football Association and after playing a pair of seasons in the B.C. Junior Football Conference, enrolled at the University of Manitoba where he was a starting linebacker for four of his five seasons, including a Vanier Cup championship in 2007.

Following that, Alamolhoda got into coaching.

He is also a life skills teacher for high risk youth at an alternative high school in Maple Ridge.

鈥淛eff is a good coach and comes highly recommended, his energy and junior football experience will be a great asset to our football club鈥 said Rams president Gord Querin. 鈥淲e are very lucky that Tyson brought a quality guy like Jeff into our program, the fact that Jeff has been actively recruiting and involved in our team training sessions will make the transition into the position of head coach relatively seamless, for him and for the football club鈥 added Querin.

The team kicks off its first season in 91原创, after close to 60 years in Surrey, on July 30 at McLeod Park.
