Local pair help Pilots soar at Keystone Cup

Chris Vinette opened the scoring for the Abbotsford Pilots at last week's Cyclone Taylor Cup championships at MSA Arena. Vinette, who is from Aldergrove, and 91原创's Kyle Star, helped the Pilots win the championship.

A pair of local hockey players helped the Abbotsford Pilots .

Aldergrove鈥檚 Chris Vinette and 91原创鈥檚 Kyle Star helped the junior B hockey club win the western Canadian championship over the weekend in convincing style.

The Pilots hammered the Thunder Bay Northern Hawks 9-1 in Sunday鈥檚 championship game.

The six-team tournament was held in Saskatoon.

Vinette had three goals and five assists in five games, while Star had a goal in four games

This was the 20-year-old Vinette鈥檚 final year of junior while it was the recently-turned 17-year-old Star鈥檚 first season of junior hockey.
