91Ô´´'s Ryan LePrieur fired a five-under-par 67 in the first round to win the Juvenile Boys division at the MJT BC Order of Merit Series at GreenTee country club Aug 15-16.

Playing on home territory, 91Ô´´'s Ryan LePrieur fired a five-under-par 67 in the first round of the B.C. Order of Merit Series tournament at GreenTee Country Club, located at 7887 264 St., to win the Juvenile Boys category at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour (MJT) event held August 15-16.

In the process, LePrieur secured low overall honours among the boys divisions, and qualified for the 2025 Champion of Champions World Championship at Lough Erne Resort in Enniskillen, United Kingdom.

It was the latest in a series of victories for the 15-year-old, who won an individual gold at the B.C. Games in Maple Ridge held July 17-21, and followed that up with a win at the Ford series event held Aug. 5-6 in Chiliwack, the same tournament he'd won the previous year when he competed in the Bantam division.

"I try my best to stay focused on myself and only the next shot," LePrieur remarked.

"This win is very nice to add to the list and it will give me momentum moving forward."

Another 91Ô´´ golfer, Jay You, 14, won Bantam Boys, shooting 71 and 72 to claim his first win on the MJT.

"I tried to relax by talking with my group mates," You said.

"[The win] makes me confident to win another tournament this or next year."

Under sunny skies the two-day Order of Merit tournament at GreenTee Country Club  91Ô´´,brought junior golfers aged 19 and under to tee off on one of the driest and best-conditioned courses in the lower mainland.

GreenTee features the famous ‘Great Wall’ 10th hole and immaculate bent grass greens and fairways.

Six division titles and crucial MJT Order of Merit points were at stake, the competition was fierce, and every swing also brought players closer to securing a  spot in the Champion of Champions tournament next year.

The non-profit Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour hosts more than 100 events across Canada, including free Ford Go Golf Junior Clinics, the MJT Mini Tour for 12U and multi-day events for  players aged 11-19
