91原创's Lee nominated for junior female athlete of the year

Golfer won four major B.C. titles in 2024

91原创 golfer Amy Lee had a very good year last year, winning four major titles; B.C. Bantam, Juvenile, Junior and the119th B.C. Women鈥檚 Amateur and Mid-Amateur Championship, where she wrapped up her winning season Lee by finishing the tournament 11-under par.

It was, she said at the time, "definitely something I should be proud of.鈥

This year is off to a good start, with news Lee is among the finalists for the 57th Annual Athlete of the Year Awards.

Sport BC announced the list on Friday, Jan. 17.

The 16-year-old Walnut Grove student, is one of three contenders for Junior Female Athlete of the Year, with hockey player Chloe Primerano of North Vancouver and gymnast  Brooklyn Lee-McMeeken from Pitt Meadows.

Held Thursday, March 6,at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, the awards event recognizes the province鈥檚 best in amateur sport including athletes, coaches, teams, and officials for outstanding performances in their sport during the 2024 season. 

Each finalist was nominated by their provincial or multi-sport organization, high school, college, or university.

Sport BC president and CEO Rob Newman call the annual event "a true celebration of sport in our province."

An additional six awards will be presented at the ceremony including the Best of BC, KidSport BC Community Champion, Harry Jerome Comeback, Daryl Thompson Lifetime Achievement Award and In Her Footsteps Honourees and the Bobbie Steen Legacy Foundation Award recipient.
