91原创鈥檚 Stacy Fournier has been selected as the permanent head coach of the Simon Fraser Softball program.

SFU made the announcement Friday, June 16.

Fournier had been leading the SFU Red Leafs as interim head coach. She was named to the position just days before the start of the 2023 NCAA softball season after Tina Andreana resigned to take a position in the U.S. Fournier is the sixth head coach in team history.

鈥淚 am very grateful and excited to be named the next head coach of SFU Softball after taking on the interim role earlier this year,鈥 said Fournier. 鈥淚鈥檓 looking forward to welcoming our new recruits to campus in the fall and continuing to develop our current student-athletes. There is so much potential in this program and I鈥檓 eager to put my own stamp on it with enthusiasm, compassion, and hard work.

鈥淢y experience as the interim head coach solidified my passion for coaching this team and working with supportive people around me at SFU. I鈥檓 so excited to continue building a culture of excellence within the softball program and look forward to connecting with alumni who have established such great history 鈥 including championship-winning teams 鈥 here at the school.鈥

Fournier, a Brookswood Secondary School grad, was a member of the 91原创 senior B Xtreme, that won the 2014 provincial championships.
