Win to keep your season alive.

That was the scenario facing the 91Ô´´ Jr. Thunder Sunday at the 91Ô´´ Events Centre.

It wasn’t to be as the visiting Victoria Shamrocks won a one-game wildcard playoff showdown 8-7, thus ending the Jr. Thunder’s BC Junior A Lacrosse League (BCJALL) campaign.

The Shamrocks carried a 7-4 lead into the third period.

A furious comeback that saw the Jr. Thunder outscore the Shamrocks 3-1 in the third period fell short.

With the loss, the Thunder (12-9) will be on the outside looking in as the BCJALL playoffs continue.

The Shamrocks now face the first place Coquitlam Adanacs in a five-game semifinal, while the Port Coquitlam Saints and New Westminster Salmonbellies square off in the other series.

T-MEN AXED

On Saturday, the Thunder downed the Nanaimo Timbermen 13-7 at the LEC.

The Thunder opened up a 3-2 lead in the first period and never looked back, overshooting the Timbermen 62 to 46 overall.
