The 91Ô´´ Thunder are still in search of that elusive first victory.

The senior A lacrosse team fell to 0-5 in Western Lacrosse Association play after being doubled up by the Burnaby Lakers 10-5 on Wednesday (June 14) at the 91Ô´´ Events Centre.

The Lakers scored the game’s first three goals with 91Ô´´ getting within one goal early in the second period, at 3-2. But Burnaby would go on another 3-0 run and lead 6-4 after 40 minutes.

Any hopes of a comeback were dashed with Laker goals 30 seconds apart — both on the power play — early in the third.

Brandon Clelland (two goals, one assist) and James Rahe each had multi-goal games for the Thunder while junior A call-up Nathan McKeigan had a goal and an assist.

91Ô´´ battles first-place Maple Ridge on Sunday (June 18) in Maple Ridge before hosting New Westminster on June 21.
