Kodiaks stretch unbeaten streak to 10

Aldergrove plays to 3-3 draw with Grandview

They may have been denied their tenth straight victory, but the Aldergrove Kodiaks did manage to gain a single point.

The junior B hockey club skated to a 3-3 draw with the Grandview Steelers at the Aldergrove Arena on Wednesday night.

The single point extends the Kodiaks (12-4-0-1) lead atop the PIJHL's Harold Brittain Conference to three points over the Abbotsford Pilots.

Aldergrove trailed 3-1 in the second period, but a power play goal from Brandon Potomak pulled them within one and then Daniel Higgs tied the score at three 59 seconds into the third.

Matthew Luongo had the other Kodiaks goal, which came after Grandview scored twice in the first 8:01.

Mark Menicucci made 41 saves for the Kodiaks.

The Kodiaks face a tough test tonight (Nov. 17) when they visit the league's top team, the Richmond Sockeyes. The Sockeyes lead the PIJHL with 32 points and have just one loss in 17 games (16-1-0-0). And that defeat came at the hands of Aldergrove earlier this month.
