The Aldergrove Kodiaks are one victory away from a spot in the second round.
The junior B hockey club shook off of the best-of-seven playoff series against by hammering the Ridge Meadows Flames 8-2 on Monday night at Maple Ridge's Planet Ice.
With a 3-1 series lead, the Kodiaks look to close out the Flames on Wednesday (March 7) at the Aldergrove Arena.
Should Ridge Meadows win to stay alive, the teams would play March 8 at Planet Ice.
The winner of the series faces the Abbotsford Pilots, who , the Port Moody Black Panthers.
In Monday's game four, the Kodiaks scored three times in the first 12:19 and never looked back.
Daniel Higgs, Brandon Potomak and Scott McHaffie all struck in the first period and and Stephen Ryan pushed the lead to 5-0.
Matthew Bissett got the Flames on the board a few minutes later.
Keagan Hunter made the score 5-2 early in the second but Hardy completed the hat trick with power play goals 65 seconds apart. Hardy also had an assist for a four-point night.
Ryan Procyshyn added one more man-advantage goal with two minutes remaining to complete the scoring.
