The future of synchronized swimming in B.C. will be aided by a pair of 91原创 women.

Susan Kemper and Tanya Magee are joining the Synchro BC leadership team with their appointment announced May 25.

Kemper will serve as high performance director while Magee is the sport development director. The two new positions will focus on developing the sport from the grassroots to high performance levels.

鈥淭hese two bring a level of education, expertise, and strategic focus to Synchro BC that we believe has the potential to transform our organization.鈥�

Kemper is an NCCP level 5 certified coach and has previously coached the Canadian national team.

鈥淚n any team sport, we are only as good as the strength of the individual team members,鈥� Kemper said. 鈥淲e must focus on the technical and tactical development of each unique athlete to ultimately create stronger teams.

鈥淭hrough our network of coaches and integrated sport professionals, we have incredible capacity in B.C.

鈥淚t鈥檚 time to refocus our efforts in the right places.鈥�

Magee is a chartered professional coach and is currently pursuing her advanced coaching diploma.

鈥淚 am passionate about synchronized swimming and its impact on the people in our programs,鈥� Magee said.

鈥淲e have so many successes in B.C. 鈥� our officials at the Olympics, our coaches who make synchro a career, our first athlete with a disability going to national championships, our masters athletes representing us on the world stage.

鈥淲e have incredible, long-term loyalty from so many passionate people who are willing and wanting to help. We need to tap into that passion to grow our sport.鈥�
