Taylor Venuti is ready to feel the Heat.

Venuti, a left-footed fullback who graduates from Brookswood Secondary next month, has committed to play for the UBC Okanagan Heat women鈥檚 soccer team.

鈥淚 got the chance to see her play in our two player identification camps and I was very impressed with her vision and composure on the ball,鈥� said Heat coach Claire Paterson.

鈥淚 believe she will be a great asset to our team.鈥�

Venuti is excited to join the Heat.

鈥淚 chose UBCO because it鈥檚 an opportunity for me to play soccer with a talented team and one of the top coaches,鈥� she said. 鈥淎cademically, UBCO also offers me one of the top degrees in Canada.鈥�

Venuti spent the past four seasons as a member of the 91原创 FC Metro Mustangs.

Last year, at the U17 level, the squad won both the Coastal Cup and provincial championship.

Earlier this month, the team finished runner-up at the U18 Coastal Cup championships.
