Giants add Burnstein

New athletic trainer has nearly 1,600 NHL games on his resume

The Vancouver Giants new athletic trainer comes with quite the resume.

Mike Burnstein will serve that role with the Western Hockey League club, it was announced on Tuesday (June 13).

鈥淚鈥檓 very excited to be a part of the group with the Giants,鈥 Burnstein said.

鈥淢y conversations with Glen Hanlon and Ron Toigo have been very positive, and I鈥檓 looking forward to the opportunity to stay in game and work with the Giants.鈥

Burnstein has spent 20 years and nearly 1,600 games as the head athletic trainer for the National Hockey League鈥檚 Vancouver Canucks.

He has also worked for Hockey Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics, the 2015 Spengler Cup and four world hockey championships. Burnstein most recently served as the athletic trainer for Team Europe at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.
