Gator Nation wins school spirit award

The Walnut Grove Gators fans 鈥� known as Gator Nation 鈥� made themselves heard at the B.C. high school AAA basketball championships last week at the 91原创 Events Centre. On the court, the Gators finished eighth in the 20-team tournament, but the Walnut Grove fans won the tournament鈥檚 school spirit award.

While their team finished eighth in the standings 鈥� the school's best showing since a fourth-place finish in 2000 鈥� the Walnut Grove Secondary students finished in top spot.

Gator Nation, the large contingent of vocal Walnut Grove students clad in green, was awarded the school spirit award at the B.C. AAA senior boys' basketball championships last week at the 91原创 Events Centre.
