Jacob Doerksen was named a Canada West first team all-star on Friday. The graduating senior earned the honour in all five years of his university career, the first two which were spent with the Victoria Vikes, and the last three with the Trinity Western Spartans.

Jacob Doerksen has made it five-for-five.

The Trinity Western Spartans senior was named a Canada West men鈥檚 basketball first team all-star for the fifth consecutive season on Friday.

The Rick Hansen graduate spent his first two university seasons with the Victoria Vikes in 2006 and 2007.

And after sitting out a season, he joined the Spartans and was an all-star in 2009, 2010 and now 2011.

Doerksen finished third in the conference in scoring with 21.6 points per game, and eighth in rebounds, with 7.8.

During the team鈥檚 first-round playoff victory over the Fraser Valley Cascades, he bumped those numbers up to 29.3 points per game in the three-game series.

For his Spartans career, he sits second all-time with 1,736 points in 83 games, trailing only Adam Friesen, who amassed 1,859 points in 99 career games.

Doerksen could still pass that mark as he leads the Spartans into this weekend鈥檚 Canadian Interuniversity Sport men鈥檚 basketball championships in Halifax.

The team, seeded fifth out of the eight teams, is guaranteed to play three games at the tournament.

Doerksen was also the 2006 Canada West and CIS rookie of the year, and the Canada West and 2009 CIS player of the year.
