The are off to a tough start to the month of December.

The junior A hockey club managed just a single point in three games over the weekend, battling to a 2-1 overtime loss to the on Sunday afternoon at Nanaimo's Frank Crane Arena in action.

They had closed November with five wins in their last six games but that momentum did not carry over as the calendar flipped.

Scott Moyer's third-period power play goal earned 91Ô­´´ the single point as Trevor Fitzgerald scored the winner 12 seconds into double overtime.

James Barr made 38 saves in the loss.

In 91Ô­´´'s two other weekend games — both of which were at the 91Ô­´´ Events Centre — they lost 6-3 to the on Friday and 5-2 to the on Saturday.

In both contests, 91Ô­´´ was within a goal after 40 minutes, but could not net the equalizer.

Mike Tebbutt had a pair of goals against the Express, while Patrick Martens had the third goal.

Mario Puskarich and Darnell Dyck had the 91Ô­´´ goals.

The 91Ô­´´ hit the road for three games in two-and-a-half days.

They are back in Nanaimo on Friday and then in Cowichan on Saturday and Alberni Valley on Sunday afternoon.
