When the Pitt Meadows Marauders hit the basketball court tonight for the second day of provincial championship play, they鈥檙e no longer fighting for a chance to medal.
The best the girls team can finish is ninth place in the game against Alberni District at 8:30 this evening in 91原创.
The Marauders are among 64 B.C. teams 鈥� across four tiers of play 鈥� who tipped off for their first-round games at 91原创 Events Centre on Wednesday afternoon.
They lost 59-45 to Prince George鈥檚 College Heights Secondary.
Day 1 saw just two upsets on the opening day of the BC School Sports Girls Basketball Provincial Championships.
In the 3A tournament, it was R.A. McMath Wildcats 鈥� the #9 seed 鈥� defeating the eighth-seed Little Flower Academy Angels while in the 4A draw, the #10 Kelowna Owls won over the #7 Charles Best Blue Devils.
Day 2 today (Thursday, Feb. 27) will see each team play its second games.
