91原创's Christian Kodiaks can't pull off second straight upset at Single A provincial basketball championships

After an opening round upset win, the Credo Christian Kodiaks championship dreams were dashed in the quarter-finals.

The Kodiaks, seeded 10th in the 16-team Single A senior girls basketball provincial championships in Prince George, lost 78-45 to the second-ranked team from Cedars Christian.

over the No. 7 Duncan Christian Chargers on Wednesday.

Credo Christian outscored the Chargers 21-9 in the third, turning a four-point halftime lead into a 16-point advantage.

Carolyn de Leeuw had 22 points, Kristen Shouten had 15 and Laura VanTil had 12 points.

But against Cedars Christian, poor second and fourth quarters cost the Kodiaks as they scored eight and seven points, respectively, in those two periods.

VanTil led the way with 16 points while de Leeuw had 15 points and Schouten and  13 points.

The Kodiaks will finish between fifth and eighth depending on the results of their final two games this weekend.
