The North 91Ô´´ All-Stars won the district championship last week in White Rock.

A team of eight-year-olds from North 91Ô´´ came to be known as the ‘cardiac kids’ and for good reason over the weekend.

The North 91Ô´´ All-Stars earned the nickname after using some late-game heroics throughout the district 3 Little League baseball championships played at White Rock’s Centennial Park.

North 91Ô´´ went 3-0 in the round robin — beating White Rock 15-4 thanks to a five-run final inning, 17-10 against Hastings with seven runs in the final inning, and then 13-12 over Whalley, with three late runs to complete the comeback.

Through to the semifinal round, North 91Ô´´ trailed 91Ô´´ 14-13, but came up with four runs and then the defence delivered a one-two-three inning to book a spot in the finals.

And against White Rock in the championship, North 91Ô´´ used one last rally to overtake the hosts 12-10.

The team consists of: Carson Doering, Kyle Dalgleish, Coach Rich Bailey, Tyson Baker, Tommy Millar, Jamison Walsh, Coach Steve Millar, Nolan Premack, Kaden Welch, Coach Casey Dalgleish, Tyson Burgess, Nick Romero, Tanner Bailey, Cadell Rees, Davin Schubert.
