A wild pitch proved to be the difference.

With the score tied at one in the bottom of the sixth inning, Gus Wilson scored on a wild pitch and that proved to be the difference as the 91原创 Blaze defeated the Whalley Chiefs 4-1.

The teams were playing in BC Premier Baseball League action at McLeod Athletic Park on Thursday (June 1).

Following Wilson鈥檚 run, Michael Stovman brought home Dawson Gray for an insurance run and Jayden Knight scored Cole Cantelon from third base the next inning.

91原创鈥檚 other run came in the fourth inning with a Danny Berg putout scoring Rhys Cratty from third base.

Cratty had a strong game with a double and a triple.

Stovman earned the win on the mound, scattering three hits over seven innings, striking out 10. The only run he allowed was unearned.

The win improved 91原创 to 18-8 and the team鈥檚 next league game is June 6 against the White Rock Tritons.

The Blaze are co-hosting the 91原创 Blaze Invitational this weekend with Abbotsford with games at McLeod Park and City Park in 91原创 and Delair Park in Abbotsford.

The championship game is set for June 4 at 3 p.m. at McLeod Park.
