Abbotsford Canucks sign forward Dmitri Zlodeyev

Russian prospect inked to one-year AHL contract on Sunday (Oct. 15)

The Abbotsford Canucks have signed forward Dmitri Zlodeyev to a one-year American Hockey League contract.

The club announced the signing of the Russian product on Sunday (Oct. 15).

The 21-year-old was drafted by the Canucks in the sixth round, 175th overall of the 2020 NHL Draft.

He played 20 games over two seasons with Spartak Moskva of the Kontinental Hockey League and collected one assist. Zlodeyev also played 33 games last season with Spartak Moskva鈥檚 minor league affiliate Khimik Voskresensk that saw him score 13 points and help that club win the 2023 VHL Championship.

He did sign a two-year KHL contract this summer, but it appears that contract is no longer valid.

In the years since his draft, Zlodeyev has attended two previous Canucks development camps. He went on to appear at both the Vancouver and Abbotsford training camps this year.

He also won a gold medal while serving as an assistant captain with Russia at the 2020 IIHF Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
