Councillors deserve censure

All members of 91原创 Township council should pass a motion to either censure or admonish both Councillor Charlie Fox and Councillor Jordan Bateman for their egregious behaviour at Monday's council meeting. Council should be a reflection of its citizens.This surely does not remotely meet that standard and brings about embarrassment and shame to our community.

Tourism industry backs 10 per cent HST

It鈥檚 no secret that the tourism industry in B.C. has struggled with how to respond to the harmonized sales tax. However, in light of the proposed two per cent reduction, it is clear to the Tourism Industry Association of B.C. that the HST will be good for B.C.鈥檚 tourism economy in the long run.

Census people keep pestering taxpayers

Not only do we have to sit down and answer these census questions and submit them, but then the government does not do its job in processing them. The government then hires people to phone taxpayers to ask these same questions, which we filled out on paper and submitted already.

Barring any slowdowns from the postal strike action, the HST mail-in referendum is underway, with packages en route to the Shuswap.

HST will pay off in long run

Instead of thinking only about ourselves, maybe we should look at the big picture and see what benefits the province the most. In the long run, that will benefit you the most as well.

Have to vote 'yes'

The main stumbling block is the way the government brought the HST to life. Lies and deceit. This 鈥渞evenue neutral鈥 tax is going to be a boost of $1 billion for the year to government coffers. This is taxpayers鈥 money, as was the $1.6 billion from the federal government.
