'Royal' prefix for army, air force richly deserved

These join the many 鈥淩oyals鈥� that precede the names of many of our finest regiments in the Canadian army, as well as the RCMP.

Editor: I anticipate some derogatory remarks concerning the re-adoption of 鈥淩oyal鈥� as the prefix to our Canadian air force and navy.

Having served with the Royal 22 Regiment, jumped out of aircraft flown by the Royal Canadian Air Force and been escorted by ship of the Royal Canadian Navy, I am delighted to see the emergence of 鈥淩oyal鈥� in the names of those two proud forces.

These join the many 鈥淩oyals鈥� that precede the names of many of our finest regiments in the Canadian army, as well as the RCMP.
