Editor: Letter writer John Marchant (The Times, July 20) stated 鈥淭he Liberals must be turfed from office at the next opportunity. They simply cannot be trusted to be honest and responsible to the electorate.鈥�

What world is he living in?  The B.C. Conservative party is not organized enough to form government.

Recent polls show the Progressive Conservative party will form government in Manitoba, putting the present NDP government into opposition after the provincial election later this year.  Also the NDP government in Nova Scotia is likely to be only a one-term government, like that of Dave Barrett in B.C.

Why would B.C. taxpayers ever think of going back to the NDP?  Remember the NDP drove the B.C. economy into the ground, unemployment soared upwards to extreme levels, they raised taxes by $2 billion,  bankruptcies soared upwards, they never met an operating deficit they didn鈥檛 like and there were eight consecutive budgets with operating deficits.

The economy drove people from B.C. Policies drove forest industry costs up. There was  hydrogate, bingogate, casinogate, and fast cat ferry blunders.

A failure to deliver on health  promises led to cuts in nursing jobs, closed hospital beds and increased wait times. The NDP turned B.C. into a have-not province. This was all because of the voting patterns of B.C. taxpayers.
