Perplexing planning in Township

Editor:

What on Earth is going on in the planning department at the Township of 91原创?

Two years ago I looked at a property on 48 Avenue, just a few lots away from the recent proposal for a high density seniors鈥 residence near Murrayville.  I enquired at TOL Planning. I was told that the RU-1 properties in that area are out of the ALR but residential development would not be allowed.  Planning indicated that the RU-1 lots would remain a buffer between Murrayville and the ALR property north of 48 Avenue.

So I am now very surprised to find a high density development proposed for the same RU-1 area.

I am not the only one surprised.

The previous owners of 3.5 acres that is now part of the proposed high density development had their real estate agent question TOL planning before selling five years ago. They were also told that their RU-1 property could not be subdivided or developed. Nevertheless the property was quickly scooped up by the same owners who TOL planning now supports to build high density 鈥渋n the middle of nowhere鈥.

Is the TOL planning department working for the citizens of 91原创 who pay their taxes? Why do outside developers get the 鈥渉igh density red carpet鈥?

What is going on?
