Letter: Time for local media to get back to ‘real’ news

Editor: Am I the only one that’s getting tired of all the exposure LGBTQ people and aligned subjects — pro and con — are getting in the newspaper media?

Editor: Am I the only one that’s getting tired of all the exposure LGBTQ people and aligned subjects — pro and con — are getting in the newspaper media?

What is the proportion of children who belong to or are associated with the LGBTQ community compared to those who aren’t?

That’s something I would like to know.

When are they going to learn that the vast majority of us now accept and understand them? It wasn’t that way in the past but it is now, in my opinion.

As well, I couldn’t help but notice last night, driving through Fort 91ԭ that there had been little success erasing the tire marks on the rainbow crosswalk. That’s another subject that bothers me.

For safety, that crosswalk needs to be painted to international standards with reflective white stripes as before, not in a myriad of colors that blend in with their surroundings.

Also, in my opinion SOGI education should be taught at home with information provided in package form.

This not the purview of the school system. Brings to mind the phrase “nanny state” — watering down and neutralizing individuality in the home.

When will we be getting back to good old-fashioned community news in our media?

Positive news of good people doing good things and information that is pertinent to all of us not just a few.

Let’s get back to the real news that matters to the majority.
