Editor: As one who was able to vote before the creation of the NDP I am somewhat confused by the actions in B.C. of the party regarding cancelled projects, with no work in hand for local workers, in particular unionized trades people.
Having lived in three provinces that had NDP leadership, their first objective upon being voted into power was to initiate work for their power base 鈥 excluding Alberta 鈥 trades people. The current actions indicate that the philosophy of work is now sit on your butt in some office working with hands 鈥 tools and knowledge and experience appears pass茅.
Working on or through a computer-based object will not have a design come into reality until a trades person starts fabrication.
B.C., particularly the Lower Mainland is the 鈥渕ost against鈥 place I have ever encountered in my 40 years of work experience. I encourage dialogue, not signs with 鈥渨hat if 鈥渟peculation based on emotion, not facts.
Hopefully the party in control of the province will come to its senses.
Money for expanded social concerns can only get to the province鈥檚 coffers through taxation.
The more people working for a living wage are contributing to the tax base, one urgently required before the treasury runs dry, as it has happened in other NDP provinces, leaving the provinces in shambles.
